My work as a technical writer (both at ATK Thiokol and Utah State University) provided a solid foundation of skills that allowed me to be proficient at instructing users in a clear and concise manner. After taking a break from full-time employment to spend time with my family, I was led to Adrienne Akers and the 321Forms team, where those same skills proved helpful in building the company. In my previous positions as a technical writer, I learned to use words to direct people, inform them, and even to inspire them. In my current role as a mother, I’ve learned many more valuable skills, such as: multi-tasking, compromising, persuasion, and clear-thinking in emergencies (to name just a few). I have drawn on all of these skills, and many others not named, while working in this position.
I really enjoy the fact that I am creating a more user-friendly product for clients. I also appreciate the general atmosphere of camaraderie that is present with my fellow co-workers and the general goal we all have together to make our company into a user-friendly and seamless experience for clients. Through my work at 321Forms, I hope to gain a better appreciation and comprehension of how to best take a world of sometimes-overwhelming human resources paperwork and turn it into a system that gives customers an accessible and seamless experience.
