How Onboarding Software is Lowering Anxiety Across HR

For many businesses, the process of hiring a new employee signals hope, dread and anxiety all at the same time. Initially there is hope that the new individual will be a great fit within the organization. Then there is the feeling of dread that they may not meet the company’s current work standards. And finally, anxiety creeps in when you get the slightest inkling that they may quit or be fired before the there is any return on investment. But the worse part of the process is the time it takes from start to finish.  Beginning from the point of placing the advertisement to placing the final candidate in their seat, the application process can be long, hard and often disappointing for the hiring company and the candidate alike.

One area that businesses can certainly improve upon to better the odds of hiring more qualified candidates is in the application process. Technology has made searching for a job a lot easier.  Prospective employees can apply to many positions all at one time creating a lot of work for the hiring manager. ‘Resume bombing’ has made finding a talented, skilled employee the proverbial search for a needle in a haystack. To combat the ‘bombing’ and inbox overload many companies have moved to using that same technology to manage the huge number of inbound resumes and paperwork associated with the hiring process.

Automated systems have made the candidate pre-screening process much easier for hiring managers.  Most of the successful organizations that use an onboarding program to streamline their talent acquisition initiatives also find that they gain a better interview pool and increase their return on investment. Additionally, the onboarding programs have effectively reduced costs, while improving employee retention and productivity in the long run.

Onboarding programs also eliminate reliance on paper documents. Applications, new hire documents and all relevant and applicable information beginning with the application are stored in a secure portal.  This portal also gives new hires the opportunity to access information when they need it, placing critical documents at their fingertips even before their first day of work.

Using onboarding software provides an easy solution to a convoluted, anxiety-ridden application process.
