Cement the Relationship between Company Policy and the New Hire Onboarding Process

Aug 21, 2016 | Company Policies, Effective MANAGEMENT |

Every staff member at all levels within your organization is bound by the rules of your company policy. We all know that the employee onboarding process is critical to engage new talent at the moment of inception, and one of the most influential tactics in ensuring engagement is aligning your new hire’s ideals with the specifics of your company policy. Failing to do so at the crucial stage of their transition into their role with your business can leave them disengaged and isolated, leaving the business with high staff turnover rates – a negative ROI that nobody wants to report.

If your organization overwhelms newly acquired talent with mounds of booklets and brochures that attempt to connect them with company policy, the chances that they’ll actually sit down and read it word for word are slim.  Instead, introducing high-performing onboarding software in line with your current orientation processes allows for a streamlined transition.

File storage systems mean that company policy guidelines are easily accessible for quick reference, and can be updated by the HR team as soon as changes become apparent. This eliminates the possibility of outdated media which can cause frustration and confusion among new hires getting to grips with their roles. For companies going through growth periods, acquiring talent and settling them in quickly is imperative, and their onboarding program should reflect that.

A system designed for and tailored to your company makes the job of managerial staff much easier, allowing them to concentrate on the much more important aspects of their roles. Supervisors who are attempting to integrate numerous new hires into their operating functions can struggle to balance the needs of each individual new employee with those of current talent and the demands of the organization’s daily endeavors. In the global world of business where things can change in an instant, your managers must have all the best tools and resources available to cope and adapt, and they cannot do so if they are tied to their desk by paperwork and new hire orientation tasks. Software with built-in reporting tools and bug trackers mean supervisors can submit new hire information easily and do so without the risk of mistakes and errors within the data itself.

You should also consider your manager’s relationship with company policy. It’s impossible that those in managerial roles will be able to memorize every word of every guideline verbatim, and they need tools which allow them to make accurate and fast reference to rules and regulations regarding staff they are responsible for.

At the same time, new talent cannot slide into their positions with an outdated onboarding system that requires a lot of their time and attention. White label content processing which can be personalized with your company’s own chosen branding helps to cement the connection between new hires and the business. Simple tricks such as this can have an impact on the time it takes for staff to feel like they’re a part of your business, which can improve their overall engagement and performance, benefiting company productivity and profitability.
